A couple of days ago I talked about finding your own definition of success. If your definition concentrates on your family, then let me invite you to find creative ways to connect with your kids.
In the video, I’ll show a photo of a much younger me when I was studying for my Masters Degree in Software Engineering. My son was certainly too young to understand anything I was reading about the Ada programming language. And studying with him on my lap wasn’t the most efficient way for me to learn.
But it was a chance for us to be together, even while I was pursuing my goals.
If your goals involve personal health, my friends Michael Cassidy and Cody Lutz are putting together an opportunity to work on your fitness while strengthening your family relationships. You can find more information about that at https://backyardshreds.com/products/b3-brotherhood-001-january-2025.
But what if your kids aren’t interested in hanging out with you while you pursue your goals?
In that case, consider learning about the topics that interest them. Are you willing to take up running? Learn a video game or tabletop game? Watch some YouTube videos about whatever they like to study? What inconvenience are you willing to accept in order to build or strengthen your relationship?
If you’d like a thinking partner to explore some creative ideas to build your family, let’s talk. Visit stevedwire.com/talk for a complimentary conversation.
