I’m convinced that the strength of my family relationships was one of the biggest contributors to my success in the workplace. A few weeks ago I shared an idea that helped me develop strong relationships with my children.
Today, I want to share another non-work idea that I’ve been doing this year.
My wife picked up this tip from somewhere and suggested that we plan out themed dates for the two of us as a couple. Each date would be based on a letter of the alphabet. We started on letter “A” back in January, and now we’re preparing for letter “U.”
We’ve done all sorts of things this year – some intense, some silly. Some were activities we knew we enjoyed, while others pulled us out of our comfort zone and had us trying new things together.
If you have a spouse at home and you’re looking for some creative ways to invest in your relationship, consider getting together to plan dates through the alphabet.
When you invest in the strength of your family relationships, you’ll often find that you can be more resilient to the stresses you find in the workplace.
