Time isn't why you're burned out. (You can have plenty of time and still run out of energy.)

Musing for:

Time isn’t why you’re burned out

“I feel swamped! I can’t keep my head above water!”

You’re probably not really running out of time as much as you’re running out of energy.

When your energy runs out, everything takes longer and some things just don’t get done at all. You don’t need more hours in the day; you just need the energy to make the best use of the hours you have.

An Energy Audit may be just the exercise for you.

1️⃣ Draw a line down the middle of a sheet of paper. On the left side, brainstorm things that drain your energy. On the right side, brainstorm things that generate energy for you. On both sides, include things like relationships, tasks you perform, scenarios you encounter, or even simple characteristics of your environment like the condition of your desk or a scent in the air.

2️⃣ Commit to eliminating at least one energy drainer (more if you can). Invest the recovered energy by applying it to one of your energy gainers.

Repeat this exercise periodically to keep your energy level high and avoid burnout.
