Your most expensive lie is probably a single word: “Yeah.”
“Do you understand?” (I’m not sure) “Yeah.”
“Does that make sense?” (not really) “Yeah.”
“Did I get that right?” (I wasn’t listening) “Yeah.”
So relationships are destroyed by misunderstandings.
Projects fail because of miscommunication.
All because we’re too afraid to say, “I’m sorry, I don’t understand”
Or we’re too busy to try to describe our thoughts more clearly.
